Alumna Cathy M. Crawford (’07) has been promoted to President of HACCP Consulting Group (HCG). Her predecessor Robert A. Savage recently announced, “For the past 20 years I have been honored to work with such a great group of professional food safety experts…I look forward to continuing that work with Cathy guiding HCG into the future.”
After graduating from the Online Master of Science in Food Safety program, Cathy became an Associate Member and in 2009 she was appointed Vice President and a Partner of the company. She was recognized for being instrumental in helping HCG grow as well as developing an active Safe Quality Foods (SQF) program and Training Center.
“HCG has worked in support of food safety management and inspection programs in over 40 different countries.
As a student of the Online MSFS program Cathy recalls, “The MSU program brought opportunity to learn from our instructors and from others in the program. I did not expect such an international group of fellow students. This led to some interesting exchanges, especially in food law discussions. My credibility as a consultant and trainer has been enhanced by being able to say that I am an MSU graduate. I kept and still reference the materials used in my coursework.”
When asked about her future goals, she responded, “My goal is to work with my Partners in HCG supporting the food industry, protecting our food supply and helping our clients ensure compliance to regulator and customer requirements. Although the travel can be a burden, I love my job.”
